Student Reactions to THON 2020
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa- THON 2020 is officially in the books, and once again the event exceeded expectations.
With special performances from Daya and Cash Cash, there was plenty of excitement to go around the Bryce Jordan Center throughout the 46-hour event. Those two performances were just some of the events a packed crowd was able to witness throughout the weekend.
Many students around campus all have their own favorite part from THON, whether it’s the special performances, or even the reveal of over 11 million dollars raised towards Four Diamonds.
Freshman Gabe Angieri had his own favorite to add to the list.
“My favorite part of THON was the line dance,” Angieri said. “Every time we heard ‘dancers relations captains to the stage’ it was electric.”
While the line dance can be really fun, it is also something that takes a lot of effort to perform.
“It was tiring, but it was a really fun time and I can’t wait to do it again next year,” Angieri said.
The line dance took place about once per hour throughout THON and included numerous pop culture events and Penn State storylines from throughout the year. It even included Penn State being a basketball school and the new student ticketing system for football games.
THON 2020 started on Friday, Feb. 21 and concluded on Sunday, Feb. 23.
