The Nittany Lions will visit the Horseshoe this weekend to take on the Buckeyes for the 29th meeting between the two powerhouses of the Big Ten. Urban Meyer holds a 2-0 against Penn State and will look to continue his undefeated record this weekend, with the help of junior quarterback, Braxton Miller.

The 6-foot 2, 215 pound Huber Heights, Ohio, native has a 16-6 record when starting for the Buckeyes. This year, Miller has led his team to a 7-0 start and has helped Ohio State remain ranked in the top five since week one.

This season, Miller has completed 70% of his passes, thrown eight touchdowns, and recorded 831 passing yards. During his last meeting with the Nittany Lions, Miller ran for 134 yards, two touchdowns and threw a 72-yard touchdown pass, to put the Buckeyes on top 35-23. Miller’s equally strong running and throwing ability has caused problems for Penn State’s defense, as well as many other opponents.

Miller missed two games for the Buckeyes this season after suffering a MCL sprain in week two against San Diego State. Despite his injury and absence on the field, he currently holds the highest quarterback ranking (160.0) and completion rate (69.6) in the Big Ten.

Miller committed to Ohio State in June of 2010. The standout quarterback received offers from fourteen top programs, including Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, Florida and Wisconsin.

During his first year at Ohio State, Miller was named Big Ten Freshman of the year. Miller played in eleven games, threw thirteen touchdowns, and recorded 715 rushing yards. He led his team to the Gator Bowl, where the Buckeyes lost 24-17 to the University of Florida.

In 2012, Miller was recognized as Big Ten Quarterback and Offensive Player of the Year. The 20-year-old finished 5th in Heisman Trophy voting and ended the season with 148 completions and a combined total of 3,310 yards. In 2012, Miller recorded thirteen rushing and fifteen passing touchdowns further displaying his dual abilities at the quarterback position.

During his weekly teleconference on Tuesday, Bill O’Brien told the media,

"It's a very difficult challenge playing a guy like Braxton Miller who in my opinion is one of the top 5 players in the country."

O’Brien and the Penn State defense understand the threat Miller poses when on the field.
