Penn State vs. Nebraska Series History

Penn State is 7-8 all-time against Nebraska.

In 2012, Penn State was beaten by Nebraska, 32-23.

Penn State has dropped the last three contests between the two teams, taking place in 2003, 2011 and 2012.

The first of these team’s 15 meetings took place back in 1920. Penn State won 20-0.

The largest crowd in Beaver Stadium history, took in the 2002 contest between Penn State and Nebraska. Penn State won the contest 40-7.

Penn State and Nebraska have played while both being ranked during six of the 15 meetings.

The Cornhuskers have come into this series as a top 10 team five times.

The Nittany Lions were a top 10 team during three of the 15 contests.

Penn State’s largest margin of victory was 33, defeating Nebraska 40-7 in the 2002 game.

Penn State’s largest margin of defeat was 38, losing 44-6, in 1983, while Nebraska was ranked No. 1 overall and Penn State was ranked No. 4.

Nebraska has won three games in a row on two instances in the series, while Penn State has never won more than two in a row.

Penn State’s matchup with Nebraska in 2011 was the first game in 46 years that Joe Paterno wasn’t the head coach. Nebraska won 17-14.

The Nittany Lions are 5-2 against Nebraska, inside of Beaver Stadium.
