Aida Touma-Sliman is a fifty-three-year-old politician and self-described feminist activist from Nazareth, Israel. Sliman came from a lower-middle-class family and was encouraged to prioritize her education by her father. She got her start in political activism at Haifa University, where she was a student leader of the Communist party Hadash. As a current member of the Israeli parliament, Sliman has demonstrated her commitment to activism as she advocates for the rights of all women.
