High school football kicks off Irish weekend
DUBLIN – Penn State vs. UCF isn’t the only American football game in Dublin this week. In the Croke Park Classic’s opening act Friday, Penn Manor is playing Cedar Cliff in a Pennsylvania high school football clash at the University College Dublin (7 p.m. local tim)e.
While an injury will sideline Penn State tight end Adam Breneman on Saturday, his brother, Grant, will make the start at quarterback as a sophomore for Cedar Cliff.
Rally in Dublin Valley
Penn Staters are here in full force now, and all that Nittany Lion pride is culminating in a traditional pep rally this afternoon in the tourist-heavy Temple Bar section of town.
Temple Bar also will serve as the official tailgating location for fans ahead of the Penn State-Central Florida game on Saturday.
A Little Bit Snug
Croke Park officials delivered on their promise to have new lockers in place for Penn State. It's a tight area, though.
Blue chairs sat in front of the new lockers Friday morning. They are similar in size to what the program uses for a typical road game, but the locker room is split. One room will house the offense while the defense will get the other.
Weather: Take a Guess
Rain and cloudy skies will hit Dublin on Friday with a high of 61. But the forecast calls for a dry game day.
