Senior / Broadcast Journalism

I am a senior broadcast journalism major at Penn State University, with a minor in history.  I am originally from York, Pennsylvania.  I currently report for Penn State’s Student Television Network as part of the College of Communications at Penn State University.  I am also a sports/news intern at WTAJ-TV in State College, Pa.

I have always had a passion for sports and storytelling, and aspire to have a career as a television news/sports reporter or producer after college.

During my time I’ve worked in television at both the collegiate and professional levels.  I have also worked in radio and print at the collegiate level.  I had the opportunity to intern near home in Lancaster, Pa for WGAL-TV in their sports department during the summer after my sophomore year of college.  During the summer after my junior year of college I interned at FOX-43 also in their sports department.  I’ve picked up many valuable aspects of the industry during both of these internships.

While at Penn State University, I have been involved with the student radio & television stations: Comradio and Penn State Television News/Sports.  In my time at Penn State’s student radio station Comradio, I had the privilege of doing play-by-play for multiple Penn State sports including women’s volleyball & men’s soccer.  Furthermore, I have experience doing play-by-play in other sports for my broadcasting classes at Penn State.  Those sports includes, football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.  In addition to sports, I am also involved in the news department where I produce weekly as well as anchor and report.

During my time working with Penn State’s Student Television Station, I have produced both news and sports packages.  I have also produced multiple stories during my television reporting classes at Penn State University.

My goal is to work as a television reporter or producer for a major news organization in television.
