Following Dreams
Lauren Echausse is a senior in musical theatre at Penn State. She has been singing as long as she could talk. Singing and performing in musicals became her passion at the age of 13. Going through middle school, Lauren had difficulty with friends and found a haven in her middle school musical. She continued in high school with performing in musical productions. Lauren’s greatest drive came from the musical director, who went as far as saying she would not be able to get in to any university musical theatre programs. Lauren proved him wrong and got into 10 of the 18 colleges she applied to, but knew Penn State was for her. She has had a tremendous career at Penn State, including playing Elle in Legally Blonde the Musical. After graduation, she will take her ambition to New York City to chase her dreams and hopefully make it big.
