After The Whistle: Week 12 - November 11, 2022
This week on After The Whistle: Tropical Storm Nicole blows up the second week of the District 6 PIAA high school football playoffs. Our sports journalists were at some of those rescheduled Thursday night games and bring you highlights and stories from all of those games and look forward to som e Saturday matchups. Plus, we preview Penn State's upcoming game against Maryland.

Logan Bourandas is a third-year broadcast journalism major from Long Island, NY. He is a the news director for CommRadio and the host of Ducks on the Pond, which is an all-baseball talk show on CommRadio. He is also a sports writer, broadcaster and podcaster for CommRadio. He got his start as the station manager for his high school radio station WPOB in his hometown of Plainview, NY, where he hosted numerous radio shows and was involved in sports broadcasts. Jakob Schnur is a third-year from Long Island, New York majoring in broadcast journalism at Penn State. He is a writer and broadcaster for the sports department for CommRadio. He has written articles regarding various sports and leagues including the NFL, NBA, MLB and more. He has also been an analyst and hosted multiple live talk shows. His broadcast career has consisted of calling soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball and softball on CommRadio while also calling games for Big Ten Plus. Adam Sheetz
Junior / Broadcast Journalism
Adam Sheetz is a third year student from Reedsville, Pennsylvania majoring in broadcast journalism. He has been a broadcaster for WCHX 105.5 FM in Mifflin County covering high school sports. He has also been a member of CommRadio since his first semester at Penn State, being involved in both the Arts and Sports departments. Adam has extensive experience in a play-by-play setting within CommRadio, covering football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball for the station. He has done written content for CommRadio ranging from Penn State football articles all the way to discussing Disney Channel movies. Mac Young

Maclain Young is a third-year student from Ocean City, New Jersey majoring in broadcast journalism at Penn State. He writes articles weekly for CommRadio’s sports department ranging across all five major sports. Maclain also contributes with play-by-play coverage, beat writes, board ops, and has even helped new members by producing State High Calls. Jonathan Draeger

Jonathan “Jon” Draeger is a third-year student from Butler, Pennsylvania, majoring in broadcast journalism at Penn State University. He is the Production Director for CommRadio, alongside his work as a broadcaster and producer for the Sports department and insider for Penn State Men’s Basketball. Jon also works on the “After The Whistle” live show. He was apart of the social media and on-field entertainment crew for the Butler Bluesox in the summer of 2021 and worked as a Broadcast Intern for the Saugerties Stallions of the PGCBL in the summer of 2022. Carlos Garcia is a junior from Miami, Florida, studying broadcast journalism. Carlos is involved with play-by-play for various Penn State sports and is a contributing writer for sports articles in CommRadio. CheRanda Hammond is a third-year majoring in Broadcast Journalism with minors in sports studies and marketing. She is a first-year member of CommRadio and After The Whistle and a second-year member in Penn State Sports Night. I am involved in Penn State’s THON with the organization FOTO. She is also a member of Minorities in Sports: Next and Association for Women in Sports Media national and Penn State Chapter.
McKenna Wall

McKenna Wall is a first-year student from Allentown, Pennsylvania majoring broadcast journalism. Wall is a multimedia reporter for CommRadio. She got her start as a camera operator in high school, learning how to use professional handheld camcorders, ENG cameras, and a jib camera. Allie Wenskoski is a first-year student at Penn State majoring in broadcast journalism. She is a member of CommRadio, specializing in the sports department. In addition to CommRadio, Allie is involved in After the Whistle, Penn States Sports Night, and Penn State’s chapter of AWSM. Along with her involvement in sports journalism, Allie spends her time playing IM sports as well as rooting for the New York Mets and Giants. After attending Penn State, she plans on being a play-by-play announcer or color analyst for a professional team.
