UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — THON’s annual No Hair Don’t Care Event took place in the HUB Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving Penn State students a chance to contribute “For The Kids” upon the arrival of THON weekend.

This event is one of two annual efforts to receive last-minute donations for THON as well as collect hair for Four Diamonds children currently in chemotherapy treatment. The second event will take place in the Bryce Jordan Center during THON weekend.

Penn State students were able to stop by the HUB and donate $10 to participate in the event. Male students were offered the chance to shave their head down to a buzz, and female students could get an undercut in the shape of the Four Diamonds logo. Students could choose to credit their organization or donate fully to the overall THON total.

Sophomore Olivia Notto, event director for No Hair Don’t Care, spoke about the fundraiser.

“Our goal is to have as many people as we can come shave their head and stand in solidarity with our families and children who have lost their hair due to treatment from cancer,” Notto said. “Each person comes, they pay $10, and $5 are credited to the org of their choosing and the other $5 pays for their headband and the overall cost.”

With just a few days until THON 2020, University Park is ready to dance in pursuit of a cure for pediatric cancer.
