Molly Countermine has been singing her whole life whether it was as a child in her high school choir or in her band Maxwell Strait. Maxwell Strait performs around State College in venues like the Phyrst, American Ale House, and Liberty.

Depending on the night, they can be performing anything from Beatles' covers to their own songs that they have been writing since their founding in the late 1990s.

Molly Countermine came to State College as a speech pathologist after receiving her master's in speech pathology from Auburn University. Countermine then joined the Penn State community as a doctoral candidate and began as an adjunct professor.

Eventually, after receiving her doctorate, Countermine became a full-time faculty member at Penn State. She teaches a variety of human development and family studies classes including three this semester. Her most well-known class is HDFS 129, the introduction class for the major.
