Imagine teaching a class about touchy subjects such as race and gender inequality to more than 600 kids. 

Sam Richards is a 55-year-old professor who’s been teaching at Penn State University for over 30 years. Richards is not your typical teacher. His weird teaching methods attract more than 600 people to his lectures. His class is so popular that people not even enrolled in it will stop by to listen to Richards.

Even though his class is very popular, Richards is not someone you expect to be teaching a class of this size.

Abhar Shah is a senior from Easton, PA majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in sociology.
