Daphne Smallwood is a typical student: she goes to class; she spends time in her art studio and at her internship with Teach for America; she loses sleep while trying to get everything done on time. But in her spare time, she is part of a ministry that uses miming to reach out and connect people in the Penn State and State College communities.

Crystal Jones is a senior in print journalism at Penn State. She is a co-editor for the LGBTA Student Resource Center’s OUTRider newsletter and the beauty and health editor for Valley magazine. Jones is a past Dow Jones News Fund copy editing intern at the Journal News in White Plains, N.Y. In the future, she hopes to be a copy editor or work in multimedia journalism.
