Local Band Provides a Unique Blend of Comedy and Music

Penn State students Turner Blashford and Dan Munck make up the up and coming band known as the TV Dinners. Longtime friends Blashford and Munck started the band while in high school in Carlisle, PA. They couple their original music with stand-up comedy. The TV Dinners recently played at the Bryce Jordan Center during THON in front of a crowd of 16,000 people. They are looking forward to playing more events in the future. With the help of their manager, Aaron Herschlag, the TV Dinners are currently recording their first album.

I am graduating Penn State with a degree in broadcast journalism in May of 2017. I am currently the president of Penn State’s student television network known as PSNtv. Formerly, I produced two shows for the network known as ‘The Valley’, a sketch-comedy show, and ‘PSU Matchmaker’, a reality dating show. My work in producing ‘PSU Matchmaker’ won the show a College Television Award for ‘Best Reality Series’ in the nation. In addition, I interned for both NBC and MTV and I am pursuing a career as a digital or television producer in New York City.
