Max Celii had a very normal life prior to high school, but after dropping a lot of weight his mother thought something wasn’t right. Celii had to cut his hockey season short after finding out that he had Type 1 Diabetes. He had to learned how to live healthier to adjust to a new life.

Sprouting from his love for hockey, Celli has become a very dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Flyers since a very young age. You are almost always guaranteed to catch Celii in some type of Flyers gear.

After being diagnosed, he discovered one of the best players to ever play for the Flyers, Bobby Clarke, also had diabetes. Celli has looked at athletes like Clarke for inspiration. Celii believes if incredible athletes can live extraordinary lives, so can he. It has been 5 years since the Flyers fan was diagnosed and he has learned to live a healthy life with his diabetes. However, he will not let diabetes dictate how he lives his life.
