For the Love of Music

It is difficult to fathom that a 24-year-old who quit music lessons as a child and has never played in a band is an expert at not one, but three instruments. State College native Gordon Rogursky defies all norms and is proficient at playing the banjo, harmonica and most dear to him, the piano.

Piano was the first instrument the landscape architect learned to play and first started strumming keys when he was just three years old. Once he returned to playing the piano after losing interest, Rogursky had a new outlook on music and was determined to be a skilled musician, however this time he was teaching himself. Although he admits he never learns the proper way to play his favorite tunes, he loves to play these songs with his own spin mixed in.
