Senior / Sports Broadcast Journalism

Jenna Hruska is a Senior at Penn State University focusing on the study of Broadcast Journalism.  With sports being a passion for Jenna, her future goals entail working with sports, and more specifically the NBA.  Her main goal is to become a Director of Production and/or Marketing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
In the past, Jenna has worked hard towards her Bachelors degree, while also interning at a couple places in the State College area.
She began with her internship at QWiK Rock Radio, part of Magnum Broadcast.  Here, Jenna learned the radio side of production.  She then moved forward to become a production intern for the State College Spikes Minor League Baseball team where she learned the production side of television, and what it is like to produce a live sporting event.  Followed by being an independent contractor with State College’s local TV station, WHVL where she attended local high school football games and filmed the games live.  This all led to Jenna gaining her first ever full time job with the State College Spikes, where she was hired and promoted to a Production Assistant.  This is where Jenna learned how to be in charge of not only designing game elements on a strict deadline, but was also in charge of interns.  She also was in charge of directing her staff, creating designs, running game camera, creating highlights, capturing replays, adding in -game graphics, and updating the fans with player and team stats.
