Dr. Robert Novack is an associate professor of business logistics in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University. As a former student at Penn State, Dr. Novack earned both his bachelor’s and master’s of business administration degrees in business logistics. Continuing his education at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Novack earned his Ph. D. in logistics in 1987. He has co-authored two textbooks and has published many articles in the Journal of Business Logistics, as well as the Transportation Journal.

Dr. Novack has received numerous awards through the university, including the Atherton Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Pashek Award for Outstanding Service to the Field. Additionally, the Smeal College of Business has named a scholarship after Dr. Novack, which is given to a student studying, or planning to study, supply chain and information systems who demonstrates academic excellence or the promise of exceptional success.

Aside from his passion for supply chain, Dr. Novack spent his teenage years playing the accordion in a professional band. He continues to play and says that Polish tradition and family have both played a large role in his love for music.
