Senior / Meteorology
Growing up along the water’s edge just south of Boston, Michael has long been fascinated by the weather, particularly the Nor’Easters that regularly batter the New England coast. Michael began documenting daily weather observations in middle school, and by high school had developed his own weather website with forecasts for his hometown. Since coming to Penn State, Michael has become active in the Department of Meteorology. He served as the Head of Communications for the Campus Weather Service, and was the treasurer of the local branch of the American Meteorology Society for two years. Michael currently serves as a student representative on the National Weather Association’s Membership & Marketing committee. Graduating in December 2012, Michael hopes to become a professional broadcast meteorologist. He interned for two years at WCVB-TV in Boston, and regularly provides forecasts for Central Pennsylvania on both C-Net and the Centre County Report which airs on WPSU-TV.
