Joe Ballantine
Senior / Film/Video; Communication Arts & Sciences
Joe Ballantine is a Senior dual major (Film/Video; Communication Arts & Sciences) from Philadelphia, PA. While his primary intent is to some day write for sitcom television, he also has a joyful passion for sports announcing.
Growing up a huge Philadelphia sports fan, Joe always followed the powerful voices of greats such as Merrill Reese, Marc Zumoff, and the late Harry Kalas. While his favorite major teams reign from Philadelphia, he is also a passionate Boston sports fan, much to the chagrin of his fellow Philly Faithful. Joe’s favorite sport is baseball and can always find a game with a team to root for.
Joe has been a video production intern for Brentwood Communications in Los Angeles, CA and locally with WPSU for the production of Penn State Football: The Next Chapter (2012). Joe is the Creator and Executive Producer of the original sketch comedy series “The Valley” on Penn State Network TV (PSN-TV) and has done everything from screenwriting, to acting, to post production editing.
Along with a prospective career in sitcom television, Joe will also strive to be a play-by-play announcer for collegiate and Major League Baseball. While he would love to make the calls for his hometown Phillies or 76ers, he will find passion for any ball club.
