Under Center: Episode 5

Audio/Story posted November 14, 2018 in CommRadio, Sports by Sports Staff

Mitch Broder and Pat Tartaro discuss the hottest topics in the NFL in episode 5 of the Under Center Podcast:

The Le’Veon Bell circus continues as he once again did not report to the Steelers. However, this time he’s held out long enough where he officially cannot play this season. His 2018 campaign ends even though it never started. What does this mean for Bell and the Steelers?

The Steelers have been rolling with James Connor, who has filled in wonderfully in place of Bell. For Bell, it’s unsure of what this will do to him in free agency.

Will fewer teams come knocking at his door due to the holdout? Will he get the money he wants? More questions and fewer answers appear to surface in the Bell situation.

The Jets were completely embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills this past weekend. Matt Barkley, who had been with the team for 11 days before Sunday played a solid game and the Bills defense dominated the Jets offense, en route to a 41-10 victory.

After the game many across the NFL landscape were calling for Jets head coach Todd Bowles to be fired. The Jets started 3-2 but have now lost four straight. Due to poor coaching and inept play from other teammates, quarterback Sam Darnold found himself out of this game due to injury.

Darnold has only gotten worse as the season has gone on. Is Bowles time in New York done and if so when does he get let go? Pat and Mitch discuss what they think might happen to Todd Bowles.

Lastly, the Saints dominated the Bengals 51-14 and have proven that they are the best team in the NFL. Both sides of the ball for this team are firing on all cylinders as they appear poised for a Super Bowl run. One of the biggest reasons for this has been the play of their offensive line as they are now being considered as the best offensive line in all of football.

The Saints are a juggernaut who may coast their way to another Super Bowl. The question remains, can anyone else get in their way? The NFC is strong but it should be tough to take out the Saints.
