Penn State Potential Bowl Game Landing Spots

Penn State students are already making their predictions about the Nittany Lion football team’s bowl fate after their dominating ninth win of the season over Maryland.

Freshman Alex Wu thinks Penn State needs to wait and see what happens on championship weekend.

“It’s kind of up in the air. There are a lot of factors that play into it are kind of out of our control,” Woo said. “We have to really look at Big 12 championship between Oklahoma and Texas and see who comes out on that.”

Freshman Jayden Barnes says Penn State’s offense should be able to win a shootout in whatever bowl the Nittany Lions make.

“Trace McSorley and Miles Sanders can carry our offense. KJ Hamler, the speedy freshman will go off on his normal tangents,” said Barnes. “I’m sure we’ll do well if our defense - I know we struggle defensively on the backend with our DBs but I’m sure we’ll do fine.”

After recovering from the crippling sanctions following the Sandusky scandal, freshman Kailey Jackson speculated whether Penn State would make three straight New Year’s Six bowl games.

“With a nine and three record I think they’re in contention for a New Year’s Six bowl game,” Jackson said. “I don’t see it happening but the next few weeks with other games playing out we’ll see where it goes but I think they have a good shot at it.”

No matter what bowl Penn State finds itself in, freshman Jerry Dieter says he is confident in the team, which has had just about as many struggles this season as a nine-win team can reasonably have.

“It’s gonna be a tough game going forward but I feel like they have a good shot,” Dieter said.
