STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Housing Transitions held its third annual Food Truck Rally in the Valley on the 200 block of Allen Street on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Carl Gassman, the development community relations coordinator for Housing Transitions, spoke on what the Rally in the Valley is.

“A lot of these local food trucks were nice enough to come out and [donate] a portion of their proceeds to benefit Housing Transitions,” Gassman said. “And then we have some carnival-style games [for which] you can purchase tickets that also benefit our nonprofit.”

Todd Cianarelli, vice president of housing transitions, shared a little bit of what the nonprofit does.

“Housing Transitions is a nonprofit organization in Centre County that develops, coordinates, and institutes programs designed at remediating as well as preventing homelessness," Cianarelli said. "whether it’s people with mental health disorders, drug and alcohol issues, or just simply people that lost their homes for various reasons."

Housing Transitions provides help for over two thousand Centre County residents a year by offering emergency shelters, rent-reduced apartments and first-time homebuyer education.

Some of the food trucks at the Rally in the Valley were Happy Dishes, Rosie’s Perogies, Clem’s BBQ, Happy Valley Chef, Classic Cones and more State College favorites. The event also had live entertainment by Hops & Vines and Fraser Street Saxes.
