Loredana Abreu

Senior / Broadcast Journalism/ BS in Economics

Loredana Abreu is currently a Senior at The Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism and BS in Economics. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Loredana has always been interested in the field of Communications. Coming from this country has made her realize the importance of freedom of speech and of maintaining people informed about current issues.
Along with her academic activities, she also enjoys forming part of some of the media organizations that the university offers. Besides being part of Comradio, she is currently under training to form part of The Daily Collegian, and writes for Oye!(Hispanic Newsletter)
On her free time she jogs. Training daily for long runs is a fundamental part of her life that has impressed constant discipline in her lifestyle. She has completed numerous races on her natal country and the United States.
Loredana applies all of her knowledge in her works and productions. “Ellas Llegaron”, which is the first Hispanic show on The Pennsylvania State University, is an example of this. A listener can expect from it to get news from all over the world, making a special emphasis in Latin America, an economics section, a health section, and Latin American music.
Her goal after graduation is to have her own program, in which people can express, respectfully, how they feel about political and global situations.
