Story posted November 19, 2013 in CommRadio, Sports by Mark Leskovansky

Like every other week in the NFL, week 11 did not disappoint. It brought some good games and big matchups.

The same could be said for former Penn State football players in the NFL. We will start with the biggest story that all Penn State fans probably know about by now.

Quarterback Matt McGloin of the Oakland Raiders made his first start in the NFL on Sunday. He completed 18 of 32 passes, throwing for 197 yards and three touchdowns, while leading his team to a victory over the Houston Texans. This was a big day not only for former Penn State football players, but for former Penn State quarterbacks.

Linebacker NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers had 15 tackles in a close loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Defensive end Jack Crawford of the Oakland Raiders, had two tackles in a close victory over the Texans. Former PSU Kicker Robbie Gould of the Chicago Bears helped lead his team to a 23-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, by going three for three on field goals, with his longest coming in at 46 yards. He has made 19 field goals this season.

Linebacker Tamba Hali of the Kansas City Chiefs had four tackles, in a tough 27-17 loss to the Denver Broncos, in a big Sunday night matchup on NBC. He has 34 tackles on the season, along with four forced fumbles and one interception. Hali has proven to be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. He has been a leader for the Kansas City defense which has been the best in the league this year.

Linebacker Sean Lee of the Dallas Cowboys is out for three to four weeks due to a hamstring injury. His absence has shown since he has been out. Defensive end Jared Odrick of the Miami Dolphins, had two tackles and one sack in a four-point victory over the San Diego Chargers.

Tight End Andrew Quarless of the Green Bay Packers had two receptions for 18 yards, in a 27-13 loss to the New York Giants. Former Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson who now plays fullback for the Seattle Seahawks had one reception for six yards in a 41-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Defensive tackle Devon Still of the Cincinnati Bengals, had one tackle in a 41-20 victory, over their division rival the Cleveland Browns. Defensive end Cameron Wake of the Miami Dolphins had four tackles in a victory over the San Diego Chargers.
