Around the New York-Penn League, June 20
Aberdeen beat Hudson Valley after scoring five runs in the fourth inning to go on to win by a final tally of 8-3. Both teams are 1-1 after the first two games of the season.
Brooklyn beat Staten Island by the score of 4-1. The Cyclones took advantage of a couple of Yankee errors to come out with the win moving them to a 2-0 mark on the season while the Yankees are searching for win number one.
Despite an explosion of 15 hits from the Batavia offense, Auburn came out on top by a final of 8-7. A four hit performance including two home runs from Muckdogs catcher Jesus Montero was not enough to earn a win. The Doubledays move into sole position of first place after two games with a 2-0 record.
Behind 11 runs on 13 hits, Connecticut pummeled Lowell 11-4. A six-run sixth inning put this one out of reach for the Spinners as both teams now have a 1-1 record.
Jamestown used nine hits but only scored three runs to beat Mahoning Valley 3-1. Both teams start the 2012 campaign with a 1-1 record.
Vermont beat Tri-City 7-4 behind a 2-for-3, two RBI performance by shortstop Wilfredo Solano. Both teams are 1-1 heading into the third game of a four game series to start the season.
