The 72nd Annual Halloween Costume Parade
Beth Lee is the recreation supervisor for Centre Region Parks and Recreation for the last 16 years. Lee, is the main director and coordinator of the 72nd Annual Halloween Costume Parade in downtown State College. The parade forms on Burrowes Ave between College Ave and Calder Way. Costume judging takes place at Memorial Field (State College High School Football Field) where Beth helps decide the winners on the parade. She loves the event because of its creativity and tradition and thinks it’s really cool that she’s able to see parents who participated in it as kids have their kids now participate. Lee believes the best aspect of the parade however is the community aspect with volunteer help from the High School band, State College Public Works, and the Delta Sigma Fraternity. This community involvement makes the event special and worthwhile for everyone participating.

Senior / Digital and Print Journalism
After graduating, I want to have a successful career in some type of sports communication. I know my major is digital and print journalism, but I believe graduating with a communications degree will open more doors for me than strictly being a writer. On campus, I’ve had stints with both Comm Radio and the Daily Collegian, while also interning for the Pottstown Mercury (my local newspaper) this summer. My dream job is to work for some type of Philadelphia sports team, preferably in their communications or digital media department.
