Nick Collafella, a Penn State senior majoring in Communications Arts and Sciences, plays guitar as a hobby. Collafella has been playing guitar for about ten years.

Collafella said his dad would play classic rock artists such as Kurt Cobain, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and Red Hot Chili Peppers on the way to soccer games growing up. This is what influenced his interest to start playing.

Collafella started taking lessons in middle school. When he was 14 he quit lessons and his dad stepped in as his guitar coach.

Collafella stopped playing guitar for a few years because he became interested in rap music. once rap started to become influenced by rock from the likes of Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert in recent years, Collafella dove back into playing the guitar again.

Collafella doesn’t see a future in making music but has always been a dream for him.
