The CommRadio News Department was at THON 2017 all weekend. We spent the weekend interviewing dancers, committee members, and reporting on the atmostphere. Take a look at what we found out during THON Weekend.

Senior / Broadcast Journalism

Jordan is from Pittsburgh, PA. She is a broadcast journalism major, and loves the hands on experience she gets from the Centre County Report and CommRadio. Jordan is currently an executive producer for the Centre County Report and previously worked as an anchor and reporter for the Emmy Award-Winning student produced newscast. She is also the News Director for CommRadio. Jordan joined CommRadio as a freshman and has worked as a news anchor, reporter and producer. Aside from being on the news team, Jordan is also the host of the talk show, State It. This past spring she worked in Walt Disney World as a part of the Disney College Program. She then worked as a summer intern at KDKA in Pittsburgh. Jordan has hopes of one day reporting the news on television, with a focus in entertainment. Through Penn State’s Hollywood Program, she will be spending her final semester interning in Los Angeles.

Alissa Devine is a senior from Fairfield, New Jersey, majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor is business liberal arts. She is involved with play by play and beat writing for several Penn State sports, especially hockey. She is also a member of the talk show, The Sin Bin for Com Radio. Alissa’s love for sports and hockey has driven her to pursue a career in sports broadcasting.

Senior / Broadcast Journalism

Ross Woomer is part of Penn State’s athletic production team and works various sporting events throughout the school year. Ross has experience directing and producing StudentU broadcasts for basketball, hockey, soccer, volleyball and wrestling He assists with video board shows at Beaver Stadium, the Bryce Jordan Center, Pegula Ice Arena and Rec hall. Ross has worked with networks such as ESPN and BTN and hopes to continue to expand his TV production knowledge. Kelsie is an anchor and reporter for the Centre County Report, Penn State’s College Emmy Award-winning broadcast news show. She is also a member web-based CommRadio News station as well as PSNTV News. She is also an active member of the Society of Professional Journalists. Majoring in Broadcast Journalism, Kelsie is also minoring in Political Science. She aspires to work as an anchor or reporter for a major television news network. Her dream is to work for a station in New York City or Washington D.C.

Erin Noon is a junior from Schuylkill County, PA. She is a broadcast journalism major and sociology minor. Erin is involved in CommRadio as a reporter, anchor, and producer and is thankful for all of the opportunities CommRadio has provided. Some recent experiences include reporting for CommRadio’s first ever election show and producing the THON 2017 recap. Through her experiences she aspires to be an anchor or producer for a news station. Her biggest dream is to work for Saturday Night Live.
