Penn State junior Davon Clark is a member of W.O.R.D.S. and competed in the inaugural State Slam slam poetry competition held in the Thomas Building.

Clark feels the pressure going into the first competition against Rowan University’s slam poetry team, especially with the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational, or CUPSI looming on the horizon.

Clark and the team keep their heads cool as the slam starts even when Rowan is much more competitive than they expected, but with only a two-point lead, Penn State came out on top to win the first State Slam.
