Daphne Smallwood once spent $40 on a paintbrush. She regularly spends her weekends in the studio, working on her pieces. And as an art major, she has faced criticism from both peers and professors throughout her four years at Penn State. And still she paints. “This is what makes me happy, so this is what I will do,” she said.
Senior / Visual Journalism / Anthropology
Abigail Johnson is a Penn State senior majoring in visual journalism and anthropology. She is currently working as a communications intern for Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment. In this position she produces stories and outreach materials highlighting research being done at Penn State. Abigail has studied abroad in both Australia and South Africa, focusing primarily upon human-environment interactions in protected areas. After she graduates in May 2014, she hopes to pursue a career in digital storytelling.

Allen Sheffield is a Senior from New Brighton, PA studying Communications and Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. He has held multiple internship position with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletic teams. Through these roles he has gained experience in marketing, sales, in-game-promotions, community relations, and video production. Sheffield has also been involved with Movin’ On - Penn State’s Spring Music Festival as the Public Relations and Hospitality Chairperson. Upon graduation, Sheffield plans on continuing his education by pursuing a Master’s in Sports Management.
