Having a sit down with Old Saint Rusty, gives a peek at what it’s like to be the man in the red suit. Rusty Larimer has been playing Santa for 35 years, and he loves it just as much as the first day he put on a fake beard — and for the record, his beard is the real deal now.
He loves the kids, and he does it for them. But it isn’t always easy. Between the pokes in his stomach, screaming and hollering on his lap, and the few kids trying to salvage the rest of the year by being good, Santa gets frustrated.
And it’s not just the kids who get his beard in knots…it’s the parents too! Sometimes parents don’t understand that they should just let Santa do his job. But with 35 years of experience, Santa is used to everything. He loves this way of life.
