Five Key Penn State Buildings to Stay Open All Night During Finals Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Throughout finals week, any student who needs a place to study can add the Boucke, Hammond, Oswald, Thomas and Willard Buildings to their list of available study spots, as they will stay open all night. Starting Thursday, Dec. 12, classrooms in these five buildings will be open to the public without requiring a reservation.

Now that the end of the semester is near, the library will be constantly packed with Penn State students cramming for their big exams. With more choice, however, students now have no reason not to study.

Shirley Li talked about how these buildings could be an alternative to the library.

“There’s limited study rooms for the libraries,” Li said. “If that is full, then you can probably use the five buildings.”

Especially for those that don’t want to study in their homes, freshman Ayiana Biddle says, this is great.

“If I use the [classrooms], I think it would help me a lot in terms of being able to focus,” Biddle said.

At the conclusion of finals week on Dec. 20, the buildings will return to their original closing schedule. After finals, the Holiday Break begins, and Penn State students can take a break from all the homework and studying—at least for a few weeks.
