Graduate / Broadcast journalism

My name is Bobby Brown and I’m a recent broadcast journalism graduate from the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University (Class of 2018). I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a certificate from the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism and a minor in Environmental Inquiry. I grew up in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Central Bucks High School South in 2014. While in high school, I enjoyed performing in theater productions, school talent shows, and following CB South and Philadelphia sports. At Penn State I’ve had the opportunity to cover Nittany Lions athletics for CommRadio and, of course, Centre County Report. I also participated in Penn State’s student-run theater club “No Refund Theater,” played a handful of intramural sports with friends, and attended lots of Nittany Lion sporting events. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on the live production team for the State College Spikes, where I got to play all in-game music and sound effects for every Spikes home game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park during the 2017 season. I was lucky enough to be hired back the following season as Assistant to the Director of In-Game Entertainment and Promotions, where I took on a much larger role with the organization. In my free time I enjoy playing fantasy football and baseball, collecting vinyl records, watching and discussing movies, and showing off my vast knowledge of useless information at trivia nights at bars in State College and Chalfont.
