A Dog’s Day

Appalachian Outdoors is located in downtown State College. Here they sell mostly outdoor equipment for hiking and other outdoor activities. Besides the equipment Appalachian Outdoors houses a very hairy and interesting 80 lbs. coworker. Her name is Neve.  People who shop at Appalachian Outdoors will most likely see a large chocolate Labrador retriever lying on the floor somewhere. Geoff Brugler, Neve and Appalachian Outdoors’ Owner, was on vacation and my girlfriend and I asked if we could walk his dog around town for him.

First, we stopped by Irving’s to get some water for Neve. Here she was greeted with much attention. One of the workers even recognized her as the Appalachian Outdoors’ dog. When we left many college students bombarded us. One was particularly loud (possibly inebriated) and could not say Neve’s name properly while calling her a boy.

After quickly disposing of the boy, we were off to Old Main. Before our trek could continue a young child took notice of what seemed to be a big teddy bear and became afraid. Then Neve had to go to the bathroom.

When we finally arrived to Old Main, Neve was exhausted. She is a very lazy dog. Seeing how it is incredibly difficult to get an 80 lbs. ball of fur to move when she doesn’t want to, we decided it was time to bring Neve back home.

Before we returned Neve, we noticed that she was a particularly smelly dog so we gave her a bath.
