Player Spotlight: Alec Marsh
Alec Marsh is a senior forward on a shared line with Chase Berger and Brandon Biro. The trio has played 13 games thus far, and has scored 17 goals, 24 assists for a total of 41 points along with a plus-23 to make it the second-most lethal line besides the Alex Limoges, Evan Barratt and Liam Folkes trio.
When it comes to Marsh's production on the ice, his freshman season was his best. In that season, Marsh played in 37 games and scored seven goals and notched 14 assists for 21 points overall and was a plus-three.
His sophomore and junior season were a little less productive. Marsh's sophomore season he played in 26 games followed by only 35 games his senior season, notching 10 points and nine in each year, respectively. In his final season, Marsh is making the most of it. In 25 games Marsh has 12 points via six goals and six assists.
“It’s definitely nice this year to kind of be on the board a little bit more,” Marsh said. “I honestly don’t think about it too much but I kind of just always go out there and play and whatever happens, happens."
The chemistry between Marsh, Berger and Biro has really hit full steam. That line is perhaps one of the most unstoppable lines for Guy Gadowsky, and he will probably utilize the line to its full strength come this weekend in the final series against the Wisconsin Badgers.
“I think we kind of noticed it the first weekend against Michigan State,” Marsh said. “We kind of were like we’re clicking right now and I don’t think we’ve looked back since then."
Marsh will look to lead his lethal line into the final weekend series against the Wisconsin Badgers. Penn State would for sure love to win both games and keep their hot streak at home going and make a post season push.
