UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Finals week is almost here, which means most students will be spending their time with their faces buried in books.

Trying to find quiet places to work and ways to destress can be tasking. Thankfully, Penn State Libraries is offering stress-relieving activities.

The “Destress Fest” is active in all five Penn State libraries and offers free coffee and snacks, as well as games and puzzles. Coffee and snacks are available in Room 103 in Paterno Library between 3-8 p.m. from Sunday, Dec. 15 through Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Sophomore aerospace engineering student Matthew Stevens enjoys many ways to destress while studying.

“I like to read, that’s one thing I do in between,” Stevens said. “It keeps my brain active. It’s a nice way to unwind”.

The Pattee and Paterno Library will be open for 24 hours this week to ensure students have quiet areas to study. The library allows students access to books and computers in order to complete any work. The expanded hours this week are helping many students to work around their schedules in order to prepare for exams.

Freshman Zac Benigni spoke on the libraries’ extended hours and how they will help him study.

“You are able to go there whenever,” Begnini said. “Not sure what times I’m going to study. If I need quiet time, I’ll just go to the library whenever, and I have all the resources there that I would need.”

The Destress Fest will have other events such as origami and coloring. For more information on the events and locations of Destress Fest, visit this link.
