Penn State Homecoming Hosts “Past to Present”
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Homecoming hosted Past to Present at the HUB-Robeson Center Tuesday.
All students were invited to Past to Present in order to learn about and celebrate Penn State’s history and its future.
Aaron McKenzie, who is the talent relations director for the homecoming committee, gave background on what the event encompassed.
“Past to Present is an event reflecting Penn State’s past and their present,” McKenzie said. “We have a showcase of different things showing Penn State’s history, along with stuff showcasing Penn State’s present through dances and performances.”
Throughout the HUB, there was music, live guitar players, free cotton candy and free snow cones, all to celebrate Penn State’s history. Along with these fun events, students had the chance to talk to members of the homecoming court and find out what Penn State pride means to them. Graciela Bolanos is running for homecoming royalty.
“Penn State pride means getting involved in the campus community,” Bolanos said. “If there is something you don’t like, [change] it and [make] an effort to be as true to the value as you can be.”
Past and Present is part of a week-long celebration for Penn State’s 100th homecoming.
