Gridiron Girls: Week Four Episode

Audio/Story posted October 2, 2018 in CommRadio, Sports by Sports Staff

Football analysts Carolyn Sistrand and Ariel Simpson discuss week four of the NFL as Steph Naranjo hosts ComRadio’s first all-female football podcast, Gridiron Girls:

Going into week four of the season the league has faced tragic injury, game-winning drives, controversial calls and an abrupt end to Fitzmagic.

The Los Angeles Rams continued their win streak in an exciting 38-31 win against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. Jared Goff had a breakout game, throwing for a career-high of 465 yards and five touchdowns. Now that this loss brings the Vikings record to 1-2-1, will Kirk Cousins be able to lead them into a win in week five against former Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles?

Looks like the magic has transferred over to Bears quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, as he threw for 354 yards with an impressive 39-yard pass to Trey Burton. Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched going into the second half, as fans were able to see the not-so-stellar return of Jameis Winston. Following the Buccaneer’s 48-10 loss, Winston was still named the starter against the Atlanta Falcons.

Dallas Cowboys are now 2-2 after their win against the Detroit Lions with the final score of 26-24. The Cowboys began utilizing their offensive tools as Ezekiel Elliott was a huge threat against the Lions defense. Will Elliot keep getting fed the ball as they head into their in-state game against the Houston Texans?

After the whole country thought heartbreak for Cleveland football was finally over, thanks to savior, Baker Mayfield, they suffered yet again another devastating loss. The Cleveland Browns lost another close matchup in overtime against the Oakland Raiders, with one major controversial call which some believe could have changed the outcome of that game.

More week four game recaps, MVP and Diva picks and week five predictions all on this episode of Gridiron Girls.
