“As a minority woman, I feel empowered,” said Jinjin Li.
Li, a senior majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology, enjoys her life at Penn State and in the United States.
During almost four years studying at Penn State, Li has read many books and tries to do more to become a social worker.
Li goes ice skating with her friends every weekend and it reminds her of an embarrassing experience from her childhood. Li said her mother made her learn ballet and roller skating even though she did not like it. She still cannot do roller skating well because she quit after one lesson.

Zhuxuan Li is photojournalism student at Penn State. She studied music industry at The Communication University Of China(CUC) for two years before she transferred to Penn State. Li developed great interest in photojournalism and multimedia production when taking course about TV production in CUC.
During the two year at Penn State, Li gained lots of valuable experience about news writing, newspaper design and story telling. In 2018, Li did a photo story of “Our Little Homie” which is about converting a school bus into a skoolie. Besides, for multimedia story, Li videoed a story “Stand Up” about a b-boying group member of Ram Squade who was verbally attacked by local people when he was a child.
She plans to do more photo and video stories in the future after graduate. Li enjoys spending her time on collecting stories and interviewing people with interesting thought.
