Amanda Houston, an adult learner at Penn State University, lives an extremely busy life. When she became pregnant with her first child, while attending Lock Haven University, she had to stop her schooling after her Associate’s Degree. She has now returned to get her Bachelor’s Degree and says that she will die with her Doctorate’s.

With two children and a husband, she has many other responsibilities in her life other than attending classes and doing schoolwork. She holds a job at Comfort Keepers in State College, Pa., tends to her family, and takes care of many tasks on their family’s farm to show cows. She has to drive forty-five minutes to Penn State every morning for class and then back to pick up her kids, who also do dance classes. In between class and her family, she tries to squeeze time in between for the gym and grocery shopping. Although she had to leave Lock Haven, she is very focused on learning and providing the best life for her family. She says that she is incredibly thankful to have an extremely supportive family who helps her chase her goals and encourages her to live life to the fullest.
