Matt is a senior from the heart of Pennsylvania’s coal region near Pottsville. Matt works part-time in the Game Operations department for Penn State Athletics, serving as the public address announcer and sound operator for Penn State Softball. Within student media, Matt is a member of CommRadio’s management team as social media director. He also does play-by-play broadcasting and producing for the station’s sports department. On the television side, Matt served as a sports anchor for the Centre County Report, and hosts the weekly segment “Penn State Sports Court” on PSN-TV. Ryan is a Telecommunications major and English BA/MA student at Penn State University, originally from Harrisburg, PA. He’s interned for B94.5 Radio, Lady Lions Basketball, Harrisburg Improv Theatre, and WITF Public Broadcasting working with social media, video/audio production, graphic design and writing. Ryan is involved with several organizations on campus including Phroth Humor Publication and Full Ammo Improv. Currently, he’s an executive producer for the Centre County Report.

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” As senior majoring in Telecommunications and minoring in Political Science at The Pennsylvania State University, Anastasia has already learned a lot about broadcast media. She’s acquired hands on training in a control room for multi-camera live productions. Along with this, she has expanded her knowledge with social media, photography and videography by working independently on projects. Erin is from Alexandria, Virginia, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in International Affairs and has a focus in sports media through the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. She is currently the President of the Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM) at Penn State. AWSM Penn State was awarded Student Chapter of the Year for the 2017-2018 academic year by the national organization. Erin has interned with the Penn State women’s soccer team, B94.5 All the Hits radio station, and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. Her previous semester was spent studying Social Sciences in Amsterdam, Netherlands at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. Following graduation, Erin hopes to work in television sports broadcasting as a multimedia reporter, anchor, or producer. Ava Rash is a Senior from Pittsburgh, PA. As an avid sports fan, Ava has taken the steps to further her experience on and off the court. For the past year, Ava has worked for Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics as a marketing intern and is currently an emcee for sporting events including Men’s Hockey, Wrestling, and Women’s Volleyball. Ava has helped with the production and marketing of games, including the Men’s Basketball THON Hoops game, which was the highest attended game in years. Ava is a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism, and hopes to continue her career as a sideline reporter. Ava has previously worked as Penn State’s Homecoming Sideline announcer where she commented and interviewed throughout the live event. Ava also works for the Centre County Report as a reporter and is currently an executive producer.

Katie Schreckengast is from Palmyra, Pennsylvania.  She spent the summer of 2018 at PennLive.com as a social media reporter and traveled the state highlighting local events with a focus on lifestyle and culture reporting.  This fall, Schreckengast will serve as the Public Relations Officer for the Pennsylvania State University Marching Blue Band. This is her second time holding this position and during the 2016-2017 season she more than tripled the organization’s social media following in less than a year.

Schreckengast is passionate about social media marketing and hopes to utilize her broadcasting and social media skills in the future.
