Jeff Capanelli is a senior from Fair Haven, New Jersey, majoring in broadcast journalism. He will be contributing to the Centre County Report and ComRadio during the 2016 fall semester.

After being a talk show co-host for two years, Jeff now produces and hosts his very own talk show on ComRadio: The Jeff Capanelli Hour. He also contributes to ComRadio’s sports department with written columns, podcasts, live production and play-by-play of various Penn State sports.

Jeff spent the spring of 2016 in Los Angeles, California as a member of the inaugural Penn State Hollywood program. He worked as a video production & strategy intern for Disney Interactive Media, focusing specifically on emerging content.

That following summer, Jeff worked as an editorial intern for Scout Media in New York City.

A Long Island native, John McHugh has known that he wanted to pursue sports broadcasting from a young age. Since then he has seized every opportunity he can, coming to Penn State and doing extensive work with ComRadio and other campus media organizations.

In addition to play-by-play, beat writing, and podcasting at ComRadio, John is currently the host of The Fast Lane, Penn State’s only NASCAR talk show, and ComRadio Country Countdown.

In the professional world, John has interned in the Sports Department and News 12 Long Island, in the news department at Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia in the summer of 2016. He has also written for the Automobile Association of America (AAA) Northeast’s website and Car and Travel magazine for the past three summers.

Coming from the small town of Mansfield, Pennsylvania, Rani is ready to pursue her professional career in Communications. With a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Business, she is expected to graduate in December 2016. Rani is currently a Producer/Anchor/Reporter for the Centre County Report. She performs a variety of tasks from reporting and interviewing in the field to assigning stories to reporters. Over the summer she gained valuable hands on experience working with a professional news crew at WENY News in Horseheads, NY. She created her own stories and assisted the Producer for the evening newscast. On top of that, Rani also interned with Little League International in Williamsport, PA. There she got to experience a different side of the industry as she tracked the games and uploaded clips of great plays and funny or inspiring moments from the players. Rani has also worked with ComRadio and PSNtv’s PSN News. As a broadcast journalism student at Penn State University, Madeliene has
completed extensive coursework in the field. Acceptance into the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism has enabled her to further pursue her passion. Through opportunities with major organizations such as, Coca-Cola Studios, Big Ten Network Student U and CBS Pittsburgh, Madeliene has gained valuable production, writing and reporting experience in news and sports.

Madeliene has experience outside journalism, as well. While Madeliene was in Atlanta with Coke Studios, she also worked as a Project Management Intern at Brunner, a leading independent advertising agency.

As a Pittsburgh native, she recently completed a long-term independent project on the Peters Township High School Varsity Dance Team’s journey to Nationals. She followed the team to Disney where they took home the Silver.

As a former member of PSNtv, she has participated in several shows, including Penn State Sports Night, PSN News and Hollywood Now. Madeliene also served as an anchor and reporter for Penn State’s ComRadio.
